Project management in a WordPress environment is not about code
Date:April 21, 2026
It’s been a little over two years since I joined Webnorth. I still remember my first conversation with Jacob.
Two people from Funen finding common ground quickly. Local expressions, a shared love for cake, and a natural focus on family. But the role itself was something else. Fully digital, with a strong focus on WordPress.
I came from the advertising industry. From campaigns, creative processes, and years of collaboration with both clients and creative teams.
So I wasn’t sure if I would fit into a company with such a strong technical focus.
It turned out that my technical background wasn’t what mattered most. It was my experience with processes, structure, and collaboration.
I brought my agency learnings with me. And I use them every day, just in a different context.
Because even in a WordPress environment, project management is not about code. It is about people. About creating structure in complex processes. And about staying calm when things start moving fast, especially in projects like new WordPress websites and larger solutions such as WordPress and WooCommerce webshops.
The principles are still the same. Clear communication. Defined expectations. And shared responsibility for getting projects safely across the finish line.
I’m sharing this because sometimes you need to step into something new. You don’t have to know everything from the start. Some things you learn along the way.
