Personal story

WordPress is more than a platform

Date:April 23, 2026

A few years ago, we attended our first WordCamp.

Since then, it has become a natural part of how we follow the development of WordPress. Most recently, we have been there with the team in both Porto and Athens.

What stands out most is not only the technical side.

Of course, you learn about security, performance, and new technologies. But the most important part is the community. WordPress is still the largest CMS in the world, and you feel that when people from all over the world come together around it.

It is also where you see the direction the platform is moving in.

More major players are getting involved. The expectations around quality, security, and stable operations are increasing. And WordPress is more widely used in established companies and organisations, where solutions need to last.

That also places higher demands on the people working with it.

At Webnorth, it is not only about building solutions. It is also about taking responsibility for operations, maintenance, and security, and making sure what we deliver works in practice, long after launch, especially in work around performance and security and long-term website maintenance.

At the same time, it is hard not to see the journey in a broader perspective.

From the early years with computers, LAN parties, and an interest that was allowed to grow, to today being part of a team working professionally with WordPress every day.

From two people in a basement in Copenhagen to a growing team that is still curious about what comes next.

WordPress continues to evolve. So do we.
