Specialisation is no longer optional

Date:April 24, 2026

There is a reason you do not see a professional footballer who is also one of the world’s best chess players and builds WordPress solutions at a high level.

At some point, you have to choose.

That was also the essence of a discussion I recently had with a group of international business owners. The market is becoming more mature, more competitive, and faster at seeing who is actually good at what.

With the rapid development of AI, that difference only becomes clearer.

It is becoming easier to get started. But it is becoming harder to be truly good.

That is why specialisation matters.

Many companies still try to cover a broad field. More services, more technologies, more directions. That can work for a while, but over time it becomes clear where depth is missing.

Because when complexity rises and expectations become sharper, quality is not decided by breadth. It is decided by understanding.

And understanding requires focus.

At Webnorth, we made that decision several years ago. We did not want to be a little good at many things. We wanted to be really good at something.

We chose WordPress and agency collaboration.

That focus has allowed us to work closely with some of Denmark’s strongest agencies, collaborate with leading plugin providers, and stay active in both Danish and international WordPress communities.

It also means we can raise the technical level of the solutions we are part of, so our partners can focus on what they do best.

When you work with focus over time, something happens. Decisions become sharper. Processes improve. And the solutions last longer, especially when the work involves complex WordPress websites.

Of course, there are exceptions. And there will always be companies trying to do everything.

But the market is not becoming less demanding.

So the question is not whether you can offer everything. The question is whether it holds up in the long run.

For us, the answer has been clear.

We focus.
