This is why I’m happy to pay for fitness for the entire Webnorth team

I have always been deeply fascinated by computers and development, but in my twenties, I hit a wall. I got sick more often, long workdays wore me down and my mental sharpness wasn’t what it used to be.

One day, I spoke with a hotel director in his sixties, who had an impressive energy and mental resilience that I envied.
His secret was simple: he had been running his whole life.

Suddenly, I began to see a pattern. People who age strongly and maintain clarity in their work almost always have an active relationship with exercise. Not necessarily extreme amounts, just regular and consistent activity.

When I started running myself, something changed. I hardly ever got sick anymore, my energy increased significantly and I performed better at work, in chess and at home.

I’m not a particularly fast runner, actually, pretty average. But it made an enormous difference in my life. And that exact difference is what I want to pass on to the entire team at Webnorth.

Why it also makes sense in a WordPress agency

At Webnorth, we work on complex WordPress solutions for large Danish companies. This requires focus, clarity and a high technical level every single day.
My experience is that employees who have energy, strong mental fitness and physical resilience deliver better work. This directly impacts code quality, architecture decisions, UX thinking, performance optimization and client interactions.

In other words: better people make better WordPress solutions.

That’s why I’m happy to pay for fitness for the whole team. For me, it’s both a staff benefit and an investment in the company’s quality. I honestly believe it’s part of our “secret sauce” that has made us Denmark’s leading WordPress agency.

The important thing isn’t how fast you run

There are no performance requirements or record times. The most important thing is to get started and stick with it. A couple of runs per week can improve your health and mental sharpness more than most people realize.

If you haven’t felt the difference yet, it’s never too late to start. Just get moving. It doesn’t need to be far, it only needs to be consistent.
